Angelina Godel's Testimony
I own land in Second Life and wanted to put a shed in the backyard. Although my 3-D rendering skills are good enough to get it done myself, I just didn’t have the time because my RL kids are so involved in soccer. I hired another person to build the shed for me but he built it a lot smaller than we agreed upon. He refused to fix it and denies that we agreed on what we agreed upon. What do you think I should do?
Case Decision
Thanks for your question. With the virtual world justice being in its infancy, these types of disputes are difficult to solve. First of all, make sure you have a contract with anyone you work with in Second Life. It's important to define the agreement you made and have a RL copy of it. This kind of evidence with hold up well at peacedeals.org.
I would suggest that if your side of the story is truly how you explained it here, the other party in the case is at fault and should certainly be held responsible for fixing the mistakes he made building your shed.
Try talking to him, feel free to share my perspective with him and see if he is more willing to see it your way. If this fails to work, try inviting him to a case at peacedeals.org in order to give him a chance to share his side of the story. If you still don't receive the response you are looking for, I would suggest going through the correct channels at Second Life to come to a resolution.
Good Luck!
Thank you for using peacedeals.org
