Following a final semester of intensive academic and practical learning in Ottawa this fall, where I am working for the Honourable Tony Clement, Minister of Health, I will receive a Bachelor of Arts degree with a Major in Political Studies and a minor in Philosophy from Trinity Western University (TWU) in Langley, BC.

I have just completed a one year term as the President of the TWU Student Association (TWUSA), an organization serving 2500 students with a staff of 32 and an annual budget of $300,000. As the President, I facilitated a number of new opportunities, worked directly and forthrightly with members of the University's administration and developed a number of key policies for the Student Council. Prior to that, I served as the Vice President of Academic Relations on TWUSA for a year, in which time I advocated on behalf of the students on academic issues and developed the network of student clubs at TWU.

I have spent two summers treeplanting (to pay the bills) and have spent 4+ summers doing landscaping and construction.

I am planning to pursue a Masters in the Fall of 2009 and I am an avid reader. I also build model trainsets as a hobby.

In psychology, one's place in the birth order is critical for development and so I am proud to report that I am the middle child of 5, born to parents who immigrated from the Netherlands in 1972. Personality type: ENFP (with strong E and N)
